          Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP 2003)

          Aachen, Germany, 23.-25. June 2003

The development of efficient algorithms and mathematical techniques
for 3D Geometry Processing has become a very active and productive
research area. In it, concepts from applied mathematics, computer
science, and engineering are employed to design algorithms for the
acquisition, manipulation, animation, and transmission of complex
3D models. These are often represented as high-resolution polygon
meshes, splines, subdivision surfaces, or point clouds. Applications
of geometry processing algorithms cover a wide range of areas from
multimedia and entertainment, to bio-medical computing, reverse
engineering, and to classical computer-aided design.

The purpose of this event is to bring this community of researchers
together within a dedicated symposium venue. This will help to ensure
a more intense exchange of ideas than is possible at the broader
computer graphics conferences and provide a high impact forum for
the discussion and dissemination of ideas.

The symposium initiative is supported by the Eurographics Association
in cooperation with ACM SIGGRAPH. The proceedings will be published
jointly by Eurographics and SIGGRAPH via the ACM publisher. This
guarantees a high visibility and impact for the accepted submissions.


We are inviting submissions related, but not limited to, the following
topics:
