Saupe, Institut f"ur Informatik, Universit"at Leipzig This spring school brings together internationally recognized experts from different fields in visualization for an event providing a stimulating atmosphere for teaching, learning and professional exchange of ideas in the area of scientific and mathematical visualization. Silver, Rutgers University The topics covered by the lecturers include: ============================================ - Wavelets and Multiresolution Methods for Computer Graphics - Visual Data Exploration - Volume Graphics - Visualizing Time-Varying Phenomena The participants will gain an overview and a working knowledge of fundamental methodology in different field of visualization, ranging from flow visualization and feature extraction, hardware supported volume rendering, hierarchical paradigms and compression techniques, to concepts in information visualization. The lecturers have outstanding expertise in their fields and will present the state of the art in current research. The intended audience are students and professionals from universities, research institutes and industry who want to get a comprehensive view of visualization including recent results. Poster sessions and a small number contributed lectures by the participants will be held in addition to the main lectures. To keep this spring school personal the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 60. The spring school will take place at in the Landjugendakademie at R"ottgen, a village close to Bonn. Arrival is proposed for Sunday the 19th of March starting at 6pm and the springschool will end on Friday the 24th of March after lunch at 1pm. Further details about the spring school and the Landjugendakademie are available on the WWW at the http address given above. The conference fee is DM 500,-, to be paid at the spring school location. It includes a set of printed course notes, accomodation (on the base of 1-4 bed rooms), meals and coffee breaks. The participants cover their own traveling expenses. The organizers have booked a limited set of rooms at the conference center, which are kept open for conference reservation until February, 4th, 2000.
