************************************************************************************* International Symposium of Information Visualization in Biomedical Informatics (IVBi) ******************http://www.graphicslink.co.uk/IV08/IVbm.htm************************ 9 July, 2008 LONDON * ENGLAND ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paper deadline: March 15, 2008 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Call for Papers and Participation Proceedings will be published by IEEE COMPUTER SOCIETY We are soliciting original papers in the area of information visualization applied to biomedical and biomolecular data, including genomic and proteomic data. One of the great challenges is the presentation of and interaction with large and complex data sets. The need for integrated methods and creative strategies has provided an opportunity for novel solutions. We encourage the submission of new techniques, old techniques applied in novel ways, new methods, interesting applications and in-depth surveys. Examples of application topics include, but are not limited to Microarray data, design and analysis Nucleotide and protein sequence alignment Sequence analysis, comparison and alignment networks Evolutionary phylogenetic trees Gene expression and gene discovery Signaling pathways, biochemical networks Biochemical and cellular simulations and models Mass spectrometry data analysis Heterogeneous medical data sources Neuroscience and physiology Patient records etc. Examples of visualization topics include Interactions with large data sets Annotation and labeling Linking literature and semantics in pathway visualizations Systems-level analysis of experimental data Overview and detail presentation of predictive or uncertain data Comparative Methods / User studies / Surveys Identification of correlated and anomalous relationships in disparate data sets ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Important Dates: 15 March 2008 - Submission of papers online submission system < https://www.conftool.net/IV08/> 21 April 2008 - Submission of camera-ready (accepted submissions) 9 July 2008 - Symposium ============================================ Symposium URL: http://www.graphicslink.co.uk/IV08/IVbm.htm Organized with IV 2008: http://www.graphicslink.co.uk/IV08/ OR to the symposium chairs: Georges Grinstein, Ph.D. Computer Science Department University of Massachusetts Lowell Email: grinstei AT cs.uml.edu Urska Cvek, Sc.D.
