International Journal of Biomedical Imaging Special Issue on Recent Advances in Mathematical Methods for the Analysis of Biomedical Images Call for Papers Image analysis, an interdisciplinary field where one witnesses the crossing contribution from engineers and mathematicians, is of paramount importance for a wide range of technologies, such as computer vision, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and biomedical imaging. The international journal of Biomedical Imaging will publish a special issue on “Recent Advances in Mathematical Methods for the Analysis of Biomedical Images” in 2006. The special issue will be composed of ORIGINAL research papers on general topics in image restoration, registration, denoising, enhancement, segmentation, edge detection, compression, visualization, and other topics in biomedical image analysis. The focus will be on the mathematical modeling, analysis, and computation. Authors should follow the IJBI manuscript format described at the journal site http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijbi/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the IJBI manuscript tracking system at journal's web site, according to the following timetable: Manuscript Due February 1, 2006 Acceptance Notification May 1, 2006 Final Manuscript Due July 1, 2006 Publication Date 3rd Quarter, 2006 Guest Editor: Guowei Wei, Michigan State University, USA; wei@math.msu.edu <<< Please visit http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijbi/ for more information about the journal.
