CALL FOR PAPERS GRAPP 2008 - International Conference on Computer Graphics Theory and Applications GRAPP web site: http://www.grapp.org VISIGRAPP web site: http://www.visigrapp.org 22 - 25 January, 2008 Funchal, Madeira - Portugal in collaboration with: Eurographics Co-organized by: INSTICC - Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication Universidade da Madeira proceedings indexed by INSPEC, DBLP and ISI Proceedings*SM best papers published by Springer-Verlag and by the Journal of Virtual Reality and Broadcasting ************************************************************** Dear Colleague, VISIGRAPP/GRAPP welcomes the submission of position papers, whose submission deadline is November 26, 2007. A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of \"short paper\" or \"poster\", i.e. a position paper is not a candidate to acceptance as \"full paper\". All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, in paper and in CD-ROM support. We are happy to inform you that the conference program includes a number of Keynote Lectures to be delivered by distinguished world-class researchers. The list of currently confirmed invited speakers is has follows: - Prof. Dr. Ing. José Luis Encarnação, INI-GraphicsNet Foundation and Technische Universitat Darmstadt, Germany - Prof. Adrian Hiton, Computer Vision and Graphics at the University of Surrey, U.K. - Prof. Geneviève Lucet, Computer Services for Research at the UNAM, Mexico - Prof. Peter Sturm, INRIA Rhône-Alpes, France - Prof. Sharathchandra Pankanti, IBM - Exploratory Computer Vision Group, USA Moreover, the submission for several conference related workshops is still open, for further information please visit http://www.grapp.org/workshops.htm You may also check the workshops important dates bellow.
