This workshop is a well-known international forum to exchange experience and knowledge among researchers and developers. Papers and case studies will form the scientific content of the event. Research papers are invited that present original scientific ideas or significant improvements to existing techniques from all areas of visualization. Case studies report on the successful application of visualization methods to some special problem of field. The event is open to all those with an interest in Visualization applications and research; students, in particular, are encouraged to participate. The symposium will be organized as a single-track assembly of presentations of research papers and case studies. Enough time for discussion was scheduled after the talks and inbetween the sessions. The Programme will also include an Invited Talk by Gregory Nielson. Electronic Paper Submission * As in previous years, proceedings will be published by IEEE and EG. Starting this year, the proceedings will be part of the ACM SIGGRAPH Members Plus offerings. * Authors are requested to prepare their contribution for the reviewing process as a full paper (research paper: up to ten pages; case study: up to six pages) following the instructions that can be found in the conference web site. Related Events VisSym'02 will be followed by the 8th Eurographics Workshop on Virtual Environments EGVE'02.
