Papers and case studies will form the scientific content of the event. Both research papers and case studies are invited that present research results from all areas of visualization. Case studies report on practical applications of visualization to data analysis. The paper submission deadline (November 27) is approaching soon. Topics ------ Suggested topics for research papers include, but are not limited to: * Flow visualization * Internet-based visualization * Visualization systems * Volume rendering * Database visualization * Large data sets * Surface extraction * Human factors in visualization * Multi-variate visualization * Information visualization * User interaction techniques * Multiresolution techniques Case studies are invited from any application area, including: Physics, Aerospace, Automotive, Biomedicine, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Finance, Mathematics, Hypermedia Structures, Data Mining. Symposium Venue and Format -------------------------- The event will be held at the Centro Stefano Franscini, in Monte Verita (Ascona), Switzerland. The event is open to all those with an interest in visualization. Students, in particular, are encouraged to participate. The three day symposium will be organized as an assembly of plenary presentations. Invited presentations will be included. Paper Submission ---------------- Authors are requested to prepare their contribution as a full paper. All accepted papers are limited to 10 pages. One additional page of color plates per paper is available. Accepted papers will be published in a book series by Springer-Verlag.
