Submission Deadlines Monday 30th of January, 2006 Abstracts Monday 6th of February, 2006 Papers, STARs, and Interactive Multimedia Wednesday 15th of February, 2006 Tutorials Friday 28th of April, 2006 Short Papers, Education Papers, Labs & Projects, Games and Animations Full Papers =========== Authors are invited to submit original papers reporting research contributions, practice and experience, or novel applications. Papers are sought in all areas of Computer Graphics: rendering, modeling, animation, interactive techniques, virtual reality, visualisation, and other relevant topic areas. If in doubt about the suitability of your topic, please contact the papers co-chairs. A preliminary abstract is due by January 30th, 2006, and the full paper deadline is the 6th of February. The submission of papers and additional material will be electronic. Submission details will be available in time. Accepted papers will be presented orally at the conference and appear in the proceedings. The proceedings will be published in the Eurographics journal, Computer Graphics Forum, volume 25, issue 3, in print and online, and will be distributed in both printed and electronic formats to all conference delegates. Authors are required to include a declaration that they have not previously submitted or published the scientific contribution claimed in their paper to any other conference or journal, and that they are prepared to present the paper at Eurographics 2006. Papers must be written and presented in English. Papers should not exceed 10 A4 pages in length and must be formatted according to the EG publication style. An international jury will select the three best papers accepted and presented at the conference. The best of the three will receive the Günther Enderle Award, including a cash prize of 1000 euros. An award will also be given to the best student paper, authored and presented at Eurographics 2006 by a full-time student. State-of-the-Art Reports ======================== State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs) covering topics in research, practice, and applications will be included in the conference programme. Potential STARs may be based on recent tutorials or courses given by the authors, but can also be entirely new presentations. A STAR topic can be in an active area of Computer Graphics which lacks a clear, comprehensive overview, especially if no up-todate reference texts are available. The topic can also be in an established field of related sciences which is just starting to have an impact on Computer Graphics. It can also present an overview of practical industrial technology usage in graphics. For examples of suitable STAR topics, please take a look at the proceedings of recent Eurographics conferences EG'03, EG'04, and EG'05. At Eurographics 2006, STAR authors will be given 90 minutes to present the state-of-the-art of their respective field. The conference registration fee will be waived for one author per accepted STAR, and authors will also be encouraged to submit their papers as regular refereed contributions to Computer Graphics Forum. Proposals for STARs should be submitted by February 6th, 2006. Tutorials ========= International experts are invited to give half day or full day tutorials providing in-depth instructions on a variety of topics in Computer Graphics and related areas. Tutorials will range from introductory and refresher topics to cutting-edge technologies. Tutorial proposals, typically 4 pages, should be submitted in electronic form, by February 15th, 2006. Each group of speakers will receive * an honorarium of €400 for a full day tutorial, or €200 for a half day tutorial * one free registration for the conference and a complimentary ticket for conference events. All tutorial lecturers are allowed to attend other tutorials at no extra charge, subject to space being available. Short Papers ============ Authors are invited to submit proposals for short presentations of recent results, work in progress, and new ideas. Papers should be no longer than 4 pages, and accepted papers will be published in the Short Papers Proceedings of the conference. Authors of accepted papers will be expected to present their work as a short oral presentation as well as a poster during a special session. Short papers will be distributed to conference participants in both printed and CD-ROM formats. Submission deadline is April 28th, 2006. Education Programme =================== Eurographics 2006 seeks papers and participants who will share their ideas on developments in Computer Graphics education. We invite people to submit papers in two major areas: * the teaching of Computer Graphics * the use of Computer Graphics to teach other disciplines. Accepted papers will be published in Education Papers Proceedings, and at least one author must attend to present at an oral session in the conference. The two best education papers will be selected for publication in Computer Graphics Forum. Submission deadline is April 28th, 2006. European Research Centres & Projects ==================================== All European Computer Graphics Research Centres (labs) are invited to present themselves - and possibly one of their major projects - during the conference. A brochure will be produced containing an overview of the present European research landscape in Computer Graphics. To document and archive this we hope to receive information from all relevant sites. A similar overview was produced for Eurographics 2002, see www.eg.org/EG/DL/Conf/EG2002/Labs. Submission deadline is April 28th, 2006. Graphics meets Games ==================== Join the fun as computer graphics researchers and game developers meet at Eurographics 2006! Be part of the game by submitting a small demo containing interesting (preferably physics-based) interactivity with a graphics effect to the Eurographics 2006 "game room" competition. Selected submissions will be prominently showcased in an interactive large-screen exhibition, and the winner will be selected through an audience vote during the conference. Listen to wellknown game community professionals in special game industry sessions, as they talk about new industry challenges and technologies at the interface between research and game development. Participate in a panel session with game developers and researchers, and watch out for our "surprise" event ! Submission deadline is April 28th, 2006. Animations & Interactive Multimedia =================================== The program will consist of animation shows and workshop-style video sessions for interactive multimedia. Animation submissions may be in any area of animation such as character animation, real-time "demo-scene" work, game cutscenes, scientific visualisation or commercials. The submission must not exceed five minutes. Submission deadline is April 28th, 2006. For interactive multimedia we solicit videos (5-8 min.) which describe novel interactive works, tools, applications and technical approaches that employ a variety of media types and demonstrate outstanding interactivity concepts and techniques, particularly applications exploiting multimodal and non-standard interfaces. Video submissions should also cover written descriptions of the techniques applied and will be reviewed. Submission deadline is February 6th, 2006.
