DAGM2004 CALL FOR PAPERS and CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSIONS AND TUTORIALS 27th Annual meeting of the German Association for Pattern Recognition (Jahrestagung der Deutschen Arbeitsgemeinschaft fuer Mustererkennung) Vienna, Austria August 31th - September 2nd 2005 ===================================================================== Paper submission deadline: April 4, 2005 ===================================================================== The German Association for Pattern Recognition (Die Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mustererkennung e.V., DAGM e.V.) invites authors and guests to their 27th annual pattern recognition symposium DAGM'05 in Vienna, Austria, August 31th - September 2nd, 2005. It will be hosted by the Vienna University of Technology and organized by the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group. DAGM05 is intended as a convention of renowned experts in all areas of pattern recognition and image processing to present and discuss recent progress and advances. There will be a special session on Industrial Applications in Speech and Language Recognition. DAGM05 will follow the open-minded tradition of the previous symposia. TOPICS OF INTERESTS =================== Topics include, but are not limited to: o Computer Vision and Robotics o Cognitive Vision and Scene Understanding o 3D View Registration and Surface Modeling o Multi-View Image and Geometry Processing o Stereo and Structure from Motion o Surface Reflectance Recovery and Modeling o Content-Based Image Retrieval o Still Image and Video Transmission o Motion and Tracking o Multimodal wearable/mobile systems o Discrete Geometry o Graph-based Methods o Shape Analysis & Representation o Biological Vision and Natural Scene Statistics o Medical and Biomedical Imaging o Texture Recognition and Mapping o Recognition Categorization and Detection o Structural Matching o Computational Learning o Grouping and Visual Organization o Speech Recognition and Language Understanding o Remote Sensing o Industrial Machine Vision o Computer Vision Applications in Cultural Heritage o Applications PAPER SUBMISSION ================ Prospective authors are invited to contribute to the conference by electronically submitting a full paper in English of no more than 8 pages including illustrations, results and references (Submissions can be made at http://www.prip.tuwien.ac.at/dagm05/submission). It will be possible to publish also papers longer than 8 pages, however, an extra page fee will apply. Each paper will be reviewed by at least three members of the programm commitee. The contributions to DAGM05 will be published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) of Springer-Verlag Heidelberg. Therefore, submissions should be in postcript or pdf, formatted in accordance with the lncs guidelines by Springer (see http://www.springeronline.com). For submission the manuscript should not contain author's name and affiliation for double blind reviewing. In addition to the manuscript, the submission should include a summary page with title, author's name, affiliation and address, telephone, fax and e-mail, up to three keywords and answers to the following questions (please answer each separately): 1. What is the original contribution of this work? 2. Why should this contribution be considered important? 3. What is the most closely related work by others and how does this work differ? 4. How can other researchers make use of the results of this work? 5. Has this work been presented/submitted elsewhere? 6. Which form of presentation is preferred: Oral or Poster? TUTORIALS PROPOSALS =================== Tutorials will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2005. Proposals for tutorials must include a title, an outline of the tutorial and its motivation, contact information for the presenter, and a short description of the material to be covered.
