A special focus of this conference will be GIS and satellite data assimilation, analysis and visualization, as well as visual, spatial and temporal digital libraries. In addition short reports on work in progress are invited for a poster session. The selected papers including those for poster sessions will be published in a proceedings book from the IEEE Computer Society Press. Extended versions of the best papers (including those for poster sessions) will be invited for further review and publication in "The Visual Computer" journal and the "Journal of Visualization and Computer Animation". Detailed information is accessible on the World Wide Web at http://www-c.informatik.uni-hannover.de/cgi98 The registration form will also be available on the Web shortly, via the same URL. For your convenience, a copy of the Call for Papers is attached below. We would be very grateful, if you could also pass this message to other potentially interested parties.
