From - Tue Feb 12 15:07:14 2002 Subject: [EG general] CfP EG/SIGGRAPH Workshop on Computer Graphics Education (formerly GVE) Date: Tue, 29 Jan 2002 00:48:10 +0000 From: "Joaquim A Jorge" Call for Participation CGE02 Eurographics/SIGGRAPH Workshop on Computer Graphics Education July 6-7, 2002 Bristol, UK (abstract submission deadline: March 30) (Formerly Graphics and Visualization Education) Theme: Support for Computer Graphics Educators This joint Eurographics and ACM SIGGRAPH workshop, seeks participants with ideas about support for computer graphics educators. The attendees will meet in Bristol, UK, from July 6 to 7, to share their experiences, visions and to provide fundamental recommendations and tools for computer graphics teachers. Participation will be based on acceptance of extended abstracts or draft papers addressing the focus area of the workshop. Possible topics include: - collecting and evaluating pedagogical techniques/ideas within graphics - curricular developments for the first and second computer graphics course - how to set up and maintain a refereed repository - techniques for establishing a network of computer graphics educators Participants will be expected to expand their drafts into full papers by the time of the workshop for discussion there. Selected papers will be submitted to "Computers & Graphics" or Computer Graphics (SIGGRAPH newsletter) for publication. This meeting will be organised around a few presentations and then most of the time in working groups discussing the main topics of the workshop. The participants of the workshop are also expected to continue some of the work after the meeting in order to achieve a real outcome. To participate, send papers and abstracts preferrably as MIME attachments in HTML or PDF format by electronic mail to by March 30, 2002. If you are unable to send your abstract by email, please contact one of the three CGE 02 Committee members listed below. Authors will be informed of the program committee's decision by April 30, 2002.
