Smart Lighting Conference 2016 Call for Presentation Proposals You are kindly invited to submit your presentation proposal in the theme area of either technology, business and application or lighting design. Contributed proposals will be presented together with invited presentations in the parallel sessions on May 24 - 26, 2016. Non-honored proposals will be invited to be presented as posters in the expo area amidst the conference settings. Please consult the event’s website at www.smartlighting.org. Smart Lighting Conference 2016 themes, topics and focus Proposals are being solicited for the central themes of the conference.. All presentations would need to address a selected theme area and would need to have a focus on either: Safety & Security in the working, living or entertainment space offered by human centric and connected lighting systems, solutions and services; Comfort & Convenience in the working, living or entertainment space offered by human centric and connected lighting systems, solutions and services; Health & Well-being in the working, living or entertainment space offered by human centric and connected lighting systems, solutions and services Proposals are being solicited on the following application areas and related topics: Presentations regarding the residential market: homes / personal spaces/ etc. Presentations regarding commercial buildings: offices / retail / hotels / hospitals / public buildings / etc. Presentations regarding the public & governmental market: public spaces / outdoor environments / roads / parking facilities / public parks and recreational areas, etc. Proposals are being solicited and should have the following focus, either: Business and Application: Turning light into solutions. Papers should have an application and/or business focus. Presenters would need to address topics on developing and managing advanced connected lighting systems & solutions, which lead to higher added value lighting systems & solutions. Generating more business for the incumbent lighting industry and possibly leading to new, profitable and sustainable business models. Presentations from new entrants in the lighting industry are welcomed, especially from those companies who offer higher quality levels of “lighting as a service”. Technology: Enabling technologies. Here issues such as material development, component development, light engine issues [including heat sink], LED [HB-LED & OLED] efficiency and efficacy improvement, HW & SW system architecture, advanced system integration with control and system management functionalities, and connectivity issues, etc will be discussed. Presentations could also deal with the fundamental understanding of light and lighting, both of natural as well as artificial light. > papers should have a technology focus. Lighting Design: Considering design in the context of its environment Papers here would need to take into account the functional aspects and quality level of lighting designs and lighting, rather than the aspects related to the form factor of the lighting system or luminary design. Lighting becomes more and more important in creating “natural environments” and benefits for its users, and the context in which lighting systems are implemented and managed with it.
