SCCG98 The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Comenius University Bratislava, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Slovak Technical University Bratislava the Slovak Society of Computer Science, the International Exhibition COFAX, and the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Comenius University Bratislava organize SPRING CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS 1998 The oldest annual CG conference in Central Europe became very popular in the CG community. The international conference attempts to communicate recent research projects in computer graphics and applications. The conference will be held from April 23 - 25, 1998 in Budmerice Castle (about 90 km near Vienna). The scientific program starts at 3 p.m. April 23, 1998 in Budmerice. For visiting the International Exhibition COFAX is recommended to arrive one day sooner: April 22 to Bratislava. The SCCG97 philosophy is to create opportunities when young researchers and students can meet outstanding experts! It is possible to visit the fair and to stay in Bratislava in student hotel Druzba near the Danube river. There are 20 reservations for the nights April 21/23, 1997. (Available upon e-mail request via sccg@fmph.uniba.sk.) There is a free of charge entry to the COFAX for SCCG97 participants. There will be bus free of charge to Budmerice from the Comenius University campus, near the hotel Druzba: April 23, 11 a.m. Another free bus will take participants to Bratislava: April 25, 2 p.m. BED PRICES IN DRUZBA The price of one bed is 425 Slovak crowns (about 21 DM or 140 ATS). All rooms are double. BED PRICES IN BUDMERICE The reservation in Budmerice Castle is done for You automatically. The rooms are for 2-4 persons. The lower price for one room is 300-600 Slovak crowns (about 15-30 DM or 100-200 ATS). HOW TO GET TO THE DRUZBA HOTEL ? Travel to Bratislava using train or bus. Visit the center of the city. Use any of tramway lines 1,4,5,9,12 along the Danube river and after (under)crossing the massive bridge step out. This tram stop has the staircase for walking persons. Now You will see two similar buildings with red & blue decorations. This is hotel Druzba. The Comenius University campus is at the hill in front of the hotel. The price of the tram ticket is 7 Slovak crowns. If you travel by car, cross the Austrian-Slovakian border, use the first bridge over the Danube river and turn again to the left, and find the tramline. HOW TO GET TO BUDMERICE ? Visit the conference homepage for some hints. If You have no car, then use the bus from the main bus station in Bratislava. There is no train connection to Budmerice. CONFERENCE LANGUAGE The official language will be English without translation. Meals and accommodation will be paid separately. The costs will be in between 200,- to 600,- ATS per person and night. STUDENT SUBSIDY For a restricted number of excellent computer graphics students there is the possibility to apply for a student subsidy in the form of a reduced conference fee. CONFERENCE TOPICS The conference attempts to communicate research results in the field of computer graphics and applications. There will be organized a welcome party, the COFAX exhibition trip, and in the case of interest a tour to the close historical museum in the castle Cerveny kamen (Red Stone).
