Users may be represented by realistic avatars they control, but also autonomous Virtual Humans agents can now inhabitate these Virtual Worlds. Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications in the following areas are solicited: Techniques for creating avatars Techniques for animating avatars Autonomous Virtual Human agents Autonomous groups and crowds Talking heads in TV and multimedia systems Motion capture techniques Avatars in Networked Virtual Environments Avatars and agents for games Web 3D characters ________________________________________________________ ____ IFIP Deform 2000 Geneva, December 2-3, 2000 Virtual Humans with their soft tissues, skin, muscles, organs, and clothes are deformables. There are many methods for representing these structures and deform them. These methods may be geometric or physics-based. Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications in the following areas are solicited: Deformations of human bodies Facial deformations Muscle, tissues and skin models Cloth modelling and animation Deformations for Virtual surgery Free-form deformations Metaballs and implicit surfaces Elastic models ________________________________________________________ ____ IMPORTANT DATES Full Paper due October 18, 2000 Notice of acceptance November 10, 2000 FOR PAPER SUBMISSION Papers should be submitted electronically by sending an email with a pdf file as attachment: For AVATARS 2000: to avatars2000@lig.di.epfl.ch For DEFORM 2000: to deform2000@miralab.unige.ch Accepted papers will be published in a book.
