------------------------------------------------------------------------ CALL FOR PAPERS: ISBI'06 2006 IEEE International Symposium on BIOMEDICAL IMAGING: FROM NANO TO MACRO http://www.biomedicalimaging.org/ PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2005 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We invite you to participate in the Third IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI'06), to be held April 6-9, 2006, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, Arlington, Virginia, USA. This meeting continues to play a leading role in facilitating interaction between researchers in medical and biological imaging. Fostering cross- fertilization between different imaging communities, it aims to contribute to an integrative approach to biomedical imaging across all scales of observation. ISBI is a joint initiative of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), in cooperation with the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bio-engineering (NIBIB). The meeting will feature an opening morning of tutorials and short courses, followed by an exciting scientific program of plenary talks and special sessions as well as oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed contributed papers. High-quality papers are solicited containing original contributions to the mathematical, algorithmic and computational aspects of biomedical imaging, from nano- to macro-scale. Four-page papers should be submitted using the online submission system on the ISBI'06 website. All papers will be reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the CD-ROM proceedings distributed at the symposium and will afterwards also be made available online through the IEEE-Xplore database. Contributions are solicited in the following areas: METHODS Image restoration, enhancement, segmentation, classification, registration, fusion, storage and retrieval, quality assessment, coding, compression; tomographic reconstruction; sampling and interpolation; multiresolution methods; tensor and vector field analysis; color and multispectral processing; image sequence processing; motion detection and analysis; texture segmentation and analysis; neural, adaptive, and fuzzy methods; probabilistic and statistical methods; monte carlo methods; random field methods; partial differential equations; active contours; level sets; atlas-based methods; deformable models; mathematical morphology; visualization. MODALITIES Microarrays; photo-acoustic imaging; optical and fluorescence microscopy; optical coherence tomography; atomic force microscopy; electron microscopy; ultrasound imaging; infrared imaging; small animal imaging; magnetic resonance imaging, anatomic/functional/spectroscopy; diffusion tensor imaging; X-ray imaging; X-ray computed tomography; positron emission tomography; single photon emission computed tomography; electroencephalography; magnetoencephalography; electrical impedance tomography. APPLICATIONS Gene expression mapping; molecular and cellular screening; in vivo cellular and molecular imaging; physiological modeling; telediagnostics and telemedicine; drug discovery and delivery; image guided surgery and therapy; therapy efficacy assessment; interventional imaging; computer aided diagnosis; functional imaging; computational anatomy; vascular imaging; brain imaging; cancer imaging; mammography; cardiac imaging; dynamic imaging. IMPORTANT DATES Deadline for submission of 4-page paper: November 1, 2005 Notification of acceptance/rejection: January 1, 2006 Submission of final accepted 4-page paper: February 1, 2006 Deadline for early registration: February 1, 2006 We look forward to seeing you in the spring of 2006!
