Dear CAD/Graphics expert, ~~~~~~~~~~~~ CALL FOR PAPERS We welcome you to participate in CAD/Graphics, the international conference on Computer-Aided Design and Computer Graphics. The 9th International CAD/Graphics 2005 conference will be held in Hong Kong, Asia\'s World City, from December 7-10, 2005. It is organized by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). CAD/Graphics is a serial international conference on CAD & CG held biyearly in China every odd year. The conference provides an international forum for researchers and developers from various countries to exchange new ideas on computer aided design and computer graphics. Please visit the conference website for detailed information: http://conference.ieem.ust.hk/~cadcg05 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ TOPICS The conference welcomes original work in theory and applications of computer-aided design, computer graphics and interactive techniques, and related disciplines. Topics include though not limited to: - Geometric, solid and heterogeneous modeling - Computer animation - Rendering techniques - Computer graphics systems and hardware - Computer graphics in Arts, Education, Engineering, Entertainment, Medicine and Science - Scientific computing and visualization - Large discretized models - Image based modeling and rendering, computer vision - Multimedia - CAD data bases, data exchange and standards - Virtual reality, haptic systems, computer human interface - Applications of computational geometry - Collaborative, conceptual and feature based design; - Numerical control algorithms - Design computing, AI in design - Computer Aided IC Design - Geometric and engineering tolerances - Meshes, FEA and discretization issues - Reverse engineering, rapid prototyping - Process planning and assembly design Research reports in emerging or new areas overlapping CAD, CG, and computer vision are encouraged. Topics include: - Bio-CAD: the use of CAD technology in biology and medicine - Soft-CAD: CAD in the jewelry and handicraft industries - CAD in the garment and fashion industries - CAD in the arts and creative media - CAD and the internet: web enabled design - Human factors in CAD - Convergence and interaction of vision and graphics - Image-based techniques for content creation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ IMPORTANT DATES Paper submission deadline: May 31, 2005 Acceptance decisions: Aug 15, 2005 Final version of papers due: September 30, 2005 Early registration deadline: August 31, 2005 Conference dates: December 7-10, 2005 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ PAPER SUBMISSION INFORMATION English is the exclusive language of the conference. All manuscript submission and reviews will be paperless. The manuscript must be 6 formatted pages of 8.5x11inch paper. For format details and templates, please visit the conference website. Each paper will be peer-reviewed by at least three international scholars. All accepted papers will be published in a bound volume of the conference proceedings. Some papers of outstanding quality that have been presented at CAD/Graphics-05 will be selected for publication in an extended and revised form in international journals including International Journal of CAD/CAM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ KEYNOTE SPEAKERS (tentative) Carlo Sequin, Professor, CS Division, EECS Dept, UC Berkeley Shoujue Wang, Professor, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Nicholas M.
