Eurographics Workshop on Parallel Graphics & Visualisation From: Rupert Gnatz Date: Wed, 27 Mar 1996 10:16:34 +0100 (MEZ) FIRST EUROGRAPHICS WORKSHOP ON PARALLEL GRAPHICS & VISUALISATION Bristol(UK), 26-27 September 1996 CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS AIMS AND SCOPE We announce the FIRST EUROGRAPHICS WORKSHOP on PARALLEL GRAPHICS & VISUALISATION. The aim of this workshop is to improve the exchange of experiences and knowledge between people interested in PARALLEL and DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING and its application to all aspects of computer graphics and scientific and engineering visualisation. Topics for the Workshop include (but are not limited to): - graphics & visualisation in HPCN applications - parallel and distributed systems for photo-realistic rendering - real-time systems for 3D virtual reality - 3D graphics and multimedia for internet - MPP graphic systems - task scheduling and data distribution - shared memory and distributed memory graphics systems - data coherence in graphics algorithms - rendering realistically large models - parallel volumetric data processing To submit a contribution, authors are requested to send their full paper either by post or in compressed postscript format by email to the workshop chairman, Alan Chalmers, at the address given below. As well as appearing in the proceedings of the workshop, several of papers will be selected to appear (in an extended form) in a special issue of the journal, PARALLEL COMPUTING, published by Elsevier, Amsterdam. A number of internationally renowned speakers will also be invited to present papers. SCHEDULE 31 May 1996 - Full papers due 28 June 1996 - Notification of acceptance for the workshop. 19 July 1996 - Final paper deadline. 26-27 September - Workshop 14 October - Notification of acceptance for publication. ORGANISATION The workshop is organised by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Bristol in association with Eurographics, and will be held in the United Kingdom in Bristol.
