____________________________________________________________ DGCI'2002 LAST CALL FOR PAPERS 10th International Conference on Discrete Geometry for Computer Imagery April 3-5, 2002 BORDEAUX - FRANCE http://www.labri.fr/dgci2002/ ____________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT DATES: ** Deadline for paper submission: September 14, 2001 ** Notification of acceptance: November 12, 2001 Deadline for camera ready version: December 14, 2001 CONTACT: dgci2002@labri.fr ____________________________________________________________ DGCI'2002 is the 10th in the series of international conferences on Discrete Geometry for Computer Imagery. The aim is to gather researchers in discrete geometry and topology, discrete models, with applications in image analysis and image synthesis. Discrete geometry plays an expanding role in the fields of shape modelling, image synthesis, and image analysis. It deals with topological and geometric definitions of digitized objects or digitized images and provides both a theoretical and computational framework for computer imaging. This edition of DGCI follows the successful 2000 edition held in Uppsala, Sweden. It is organized by the LaBRI (Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique, Université Bordeaux 1). It will take place in Bordeaux from April 3 to April 5, 2002. The conference will offer invited talks, lectures on selected articles, presentations of selected posters, and demonstrations. The proceedings of the conference will be published by Springer Verlag, in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. CONFERENCE TOPICS: Theory and applications, especially within image analysis and computer graphics, on: - Digital & Combinatorial Topology - Models for Discrete Geometry - Geometric Transforms - Surfaces and Volumes - Discrete Shape Representation - Combinatorial Image Analysis - Morphological Analysis - Shape Recovery - Image Generation and Reconstruction - Visualization SPECIAL JOURNAL ISSUES: Extended versions of selected papers will be published in special issues of journals, in particular Pattern Recognition Letters. INVITED SPEAKERS: - Prof. Alfred M. Bruckstein Computer Science Dept., Technion, IIT, Haifa "Digital Geometry for Image-Based Metrology" - Prof. Gabor Herman Dept. of Computer and Information Sciences, Temple University, Philadelphia "An Abstract Theoretical Foundation of the Geometry of Digital Spaces" - Prof. Walter Kropatsch Technische Universitaet, Vienna "Abstraction Pyramids on Discrete Representations" ____________________________________________________________ CONFERENCE COMMITTEES: * Steering Committee E. The submission procedure is as follows: 1. Online submission registration http://www.labri.fr/dgci2002/authors-info.html Authors should fill the online form to obtain an identification number (ID). This ID will be used for the hardcopy submission and for later correspondences. 2. Hardcopy submission. Four copies of each complete paper, including cover page (see below), should be sent to the address below and ARRIVE no later than September 14, 2001. We encourage authors to use the LNCS style even for the submitted paper. All pages should show the ID obtained after online submission registration and be consecutively numbered. The final length of the accepted papers will be 10 pages both for oral and poster presentations. The cover page must contain the following information: - Submission ID - Title of the paper - Name(s) and complete address(es) of author(s) - Brief abstract of the paper (100 words) - Key words list (3 to 5 words) - Conference topic(s) (up to 3, see list) - Author's opinion whether the paper is most suitable for oral or poster presentation - Name and (e-mail and mail) address for correspondence These information should match the information provided when filling the online submission registration form.
